LaTeX document classes for University of Jyväskylä dissertations

Antti-Juhani Kaijanaho and Matthieu Weber of the Department of Mathematical Information Technology have developed the following LaTeX classes for theses and dissertations at the University of Jyväskylä.

The tutkielma-TeX mailing list has been set up for discussing the use of LaTeX in typesetting theses and dissertations.

gradu3.cls for MSc and BSc theses at the Department of Mathematical Information Technology

This class implements the new unified requirements for Master’s Theses at the Department of Mathematical Information Technology. Unfortunately, it is currently only documented in Finnish.

jydiss.cls for PhD and PhLic theses

This class follows the recommendations of the publication unit as to the layout of a PhD or PhLic thesis and is expexted to be valid in most departments of the university that publish theses in the university report series (as opposed to departmental report series). However, your department or the publication unit may give other requirements, and it will be your own responsibility to meet them.

gradu2.cls legacy class for MSc and BSc theses at the Department of Mathematical Information Technology

This class used to be the recommended class for Department of Mathemetical Information Technology master’s and bachelor’s theses. It is currently not recommended for new theses.
